Child Care Services
We are dual-licensing, having a child care license through the Department of Human Services and the Department of Disabilities and Aging. We are assessed regularly throughout the year.
In our child care center, we serve children 13 months to five years of age in Putnam county and its immediate surrounding areas. There are four classrooms to promote developmental growth and learning. Our classrooms are all play-based/center-based learning following the Creative Curriculum. We believe that children learn best by playing with balanced adult-child directed activities. We change our developmentally appropriate toys out frequently to appeal to all children, and keep them engaged. Each classroom has its own accessible bathroom, where staff is trained in 10 step diaper-changing and proper hand-washing. Older classroom children are encouraged to wash their hands with supervision.
* Depending on the developmental age of each individual child, the child may be placed in a different class than their chronological age.
All children are required to be at the center by 9am for breakfast, learning/interactive times, etc. depending on the child’s room scheduling. Parents and children are warmly greeted at the start of their day. Each day every child gets a note/verbal repeat of how his or her day went. We believe in having an open door policy, and it seems to work well here at our center. We strive for an open line of communication with all parents. To help promote healthy communication, our staff utilize the Brightwheel app where updates and messages are posted in each child's account and parents can check in periodically to see how their child's day is going and observe any needs they might have.
We have about 11 teachers on staff--several have worked here for 10+ years. We truly love what we do and are eager to teach and lead children each day. We do our best to provide a safe, inviting, and fun learning environment for our children.
We have a wonderful kitchen/cleaning staff separate from our teaching staff. Our kitchen is clean and neat. We offer a variety of foods for children that are appealing and healthy.
